As the professional organization for psychiatrists in Maine, MAPP strives to advocate for the health of our patients and our profession on a number of levels: at the Maine state legislature, at DHHS, and in public opinion. We partner with other groups that have similar interests, including NAMI Maine, Maine Medical Association, family practice groups and other mental health provider organizations. We have active Legislative and Government Affairs and Public Affairs Committees, and do clinical outreach to other medical and mental health providers with our annual education sessions, our Consultation Project and our Postpartum Depression Project.
