Maine Quality Counts (MQC), the independent, multi-stakeholder alliance working to transform health and healthcare, is pleased to announce that Larry Clifford has been named Executive Director following an extensive national search, and will start on September 5th, 2017.

Throughout his 30-plus year career, Clifford has held leadership roles for a wide range of healthcare organizations, most recently as Chief Planning & Development Officer for Penobscot Community Health Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center with 16 practice sites in three Maine counties. A seasoned nonprofit executive, Clifford has extensive experience building and sustaining organizations, with a successful record that spans strategic planning, program development, advocacy, member relations, innovation management, marketing communications, organizational development, fundraising, and business development.
Clifford has deep experience within rural health delivery networks and health collaboratives. For nine years, he served on the senior leadership team at the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative, leading strategic planning, program development, member relations, and ensuring that the Cooperative was developing strategic
initiatives. He is a proven fundraiser, coalition partner, and collaborator who is deeply committed to quality health and healthcare.
During this transition, Allison Watson, CFO and Senior Director of Operations, and Joan Orr, Senior Director of Programs, continue to serve as Interim Co-Leaders for the organization.
The Maine Association of Psychiatric Physicians will be holding its 12th Annual Spring Program at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport on April 26-27, 2018. The meeting begins Thursday evening with a reception at 5:00 p.m., dinner at 6:00 p.m. and a 1 1/2 hour program at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Daniel Price will talk about the Epidemiology, Natural Course, and Neurobiology of Borderline Personality Disorder beginning at 6:30 p.m. On Friday, Dr. Price and Dr. John Gunderson will spend the day talking about the Treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder: Good Psychiatric Management. Dr. Gunderson is a renowned expert in the field.
The fees vary depend on whether you are a MAPP member, a physician or a non-physician. Residents and medical students may attend free-of-charge, but registration for all is required. Guests are welcome to join us for Thursday night’s dinner but if you bring a guest or are not a MAPP member the fee is $50 to cover the meal.
