Psychiatry Faculty, Division of Adult Outpatient Psychiatry – Maine Medical Center

The Department of Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center (MMC) and the MaineHealth Medical Group seeks a board certified Psychiatrist to join our Adult Outpatient team at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Successful candidates will be gifted clinician-educators committed to identifying and treating psychiatric and neuropsychiatric illness, personality and substance use disorders in both ambulatory psychiatric clinic and integrated medical settings, and excited to work with a team of like-minded colleagues.

The Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Division offers evaluation and treatment for adults with mood, anxiety, psychotic, substance use, and other psychiatric illness. Our clinical staff includes psychiatrists and psychiatry nurse practitioners, clinical social workers, psychologists, and a neuropsychologist. Our care continuum also includes an onsite Partial Hospitalization Program, as well as integrated care provided in family medicine, internal medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology clinics. We provide a major teaching resource for Maine Medical Center. We provide training experiences for adult psychiatry residents, geriatric medicine fellows, Tufts University School of Medicine and other medical students, nurse practitioner students, social work interns, and trainees in other fields. We have a culture of continuous quality improvement and our performance in the areas of safety, quality, and satisfaction are consistently excellent.

MaineHealth Medical Group (MHMG) is Maine’s largest multi-specialty medical group serving the healthcare needs of patients locally and throughout northern New England. Our team of more than 600 physicians and 350 advanced practice providers provides a wide range of hospital-based, primary, specialty and sub-specialty care. Maine Medical Center has 700 beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital and only Level 1 Trauma Center with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and integration with Tufts University School of Medicine. The Emergency Department at Maine Medical Center comprises 63 beds, including an embedded 6-bed secure Acute Psychiatry Unit.

Physicians are expected to apply for faculty appointment to the Tufts University School of Medicine.
