The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) is hosting a public stakeholder meeting to seek input for its new rule required by An Act to Enact the Maine Death with Dignity Act (See 129th Legislature’s Public Law, ch. 271 – LD 1313).

Specifically, Maine CDC would like input on the following two questions:

  1. What data elements would you recommend that the Maine CDC collect, in addition to the items outlined in the Maine Death with Dignity Act and Governor Mills’ Executive Order Number 9?
  2. Where should the reporting forms associated with this new law be accessed? Should the forms be available on a public site or at a portal reserved for practitioners?

All interested individuals are invited to attend. The meeting is scheduled to be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019, in the Cumberland Room at the Augusta Civic Center.

Individuals who are unable to attend this public meeting may submit written comments to Bridget Bagley at bridget.bagley@maine.gov. All written comments must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019.
